Background
Following my studio degree, I pursued years of
academic scholarship before returning to painting. After honing my painting
skills, accepting private portrait commissions, and producing occasional illustrations
for local companies and publications, I’m seeking a wider audience by situating
my representational figurative paintings in a larger social context. I am
fascinated by portraiture as a record of individuals, as a social document of
status denied or proffered, and as evidence of transactions between artist and
model. I live and work in downtown Kitchener.
